Thank you for choosing Zoof Grips—anti-slip indoor shoes designed to prevent stress caused by arthritis and hip dysplasia in senior dogs. You’ve taken a big step toward improving your pet’s quality of life, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

How to Introduce Zoof Grips
Before You Put on Zoof Grips, Read This!
  1. Get treats ready: Keep your dog’s favorite treat handy. Let them sniff the shoes for a while. Sniffing helps them understand, feel assured, and reduces anxiety.

  2. Check the shoe: Take a moment to understand how the shoe fastens. Check the "how to put on" video. Make sure the loop isn’t tangled—it will make putting them on much easier.

  3. Set the stage: If your pup feels more confident on a carpet or rug, let them rest there.

  4. Start with the back paws: Begin by putting the shoes only on your dog’s back paws, as they’re less sensitive than the front paws. This gradual approach helps them adjust more comfortably.

How to Get Your Dog Used to Zoof Grips
Here’s what to do now that the Grips are on!
  1. Reward and praise: Once the shoes are on, give your pup a treat and lots of praise to encourage positive behavior. Start slow. Begin with 30 minutes a day and gradually increase the time. For the first week, only put the shoes on when you can monitor your pup.

  2. Check the fit: If your pup licks their paws, stop and check the fit. Are the shoes too tight? Are they pressing on the dew claw? Adjust if needed.

  3. Help them get used to it: It’s normal if your dog doesn’t want to walk at first. Use their favorite motivator—food, a toy, or a person they love—to encourage them. Hopping or walking awkwardly is normal at first.

  4. Check the shoe rotation: Make sure the shoes aren’t rotating. If they are, it’s likely because they’re too loose. Check our video on how to fasten the shoes properly.

  5. Be patient: Some dogs take to the shoes right away, while others might need a few days. Once they realize the shoes give them grip and reduce pain, they’ll walk more confidently.

  6. Add the front paws: Once your pup is comfortable with the back shoes, try putting on the front ones. This is usually quicker and easier.

Got more questions? We’re here to help!

Start on Familiar Ground: If your pup is used to rugs or carpets, put the shoes on while they’re on a soft surface first. Gradually introduce them to harder floors like marble or tiles. This helps them build confidence, as they may be afraid to stand on slippery surfaces, not realizing the shoes are anti-slip.

Get Them Used to the Feel: Before expecting them to walk, let your dog wear the shoes while sitting or lying down. This gives them time to adjust to the sensation without any pressure.

Start with the Back Paws: Begin by putting the shoes on just the back paws. This gives them a chance to adjust to the feeling without feeling too overwhelmed by all four shoes at once.

Ensure a Comfortable Fit: Check that the shoes are comfortable and fit well—not too tight or too loose. Ill-fitting shoes can cause discomfort, making your dog hesitant to walk, which affects their confidence.

Be Patient and Consistent: Senior dogs may need more time to adjust. Start with short, easy walks inside and gradually increase the duration as they get more comfortable with the shoes. Patience is key, and positive reinforcement (treats and praise) will help them feel more confident.

Since the shoes are breathable, your dog can comfortably wear them for longer periods, such as 6-8 hours at a stretch, without the risk of overheating or discomfort.

Start with 30 minutes and gradually increase the time over a few days as your dog adjusts. Just remember to remove the shoes when your pup is sleeping to ensure they’re relaxed and comfortable. Always check for any signs of discomfort, but with breathable shoes, they should stay comfy and safe!

These shoes are not designed for outdoor use for two main reasons:

Softer Sole: The shoes have a softer sole, which makes them comfortable indoors but would wear off quickly on rough outdoor surfaces.

Hygiene: Wearing them outdoors could expose them to dirt, bacteria, and other contaminants, compromising hygiene and comfort for your dog.

Kindly make sure to stretch the elastic first, then secure the Velcro tightly for a good fit; check the "How-to" video for more help.

Zoof Grips are made of breathable mesh, designed for long hours of wear (6-8 hours). If your pup is new to shoes, start with shorter durations and gradually increase the time. We also recommend taking them off when your pup is sleeping for added comfort.

Remove all the dry dust and fur with a soft brush. Do not miss cleaning the velcro as well with a old toothbrush. If the Grips get very dirty/stinky, hand wash them with gentle detergent and water. Do not wash them in a washing machine.

Make sure the fasten the velcro properly, even when not in use. This ensures that the hook doesn't attract dust and the stickiness remains intact for a long time. Store the shoes in a dry, dark bag when not in use.

Avoid using Zoof Grips on wet marble surfaces, as the water creates a slippery layer, reducing their grip.

Do not use them outdoors as the shoes can wear out quicker on rough surfaces, affecting their durability.
